Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while caring for our live pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Located in South Bend, Indiana, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet lovers seeking rewarding work with room to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks like stocking, facing products, price changes, and sales floor recovery.
- Promote products, services, events (adoptions, Treats enrollment), and ensure safety for pets, associates, and customers.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues and assist across all store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, embrace flexible schedules (evenings, weekends, holidays), and meet physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking extensively, climbing ladders, and handling animals in a dynamic retail setting with moderate noise and pet hair.
