Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Spruce Grove, Alberta, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
• Drive sales by recommending merchandise, services, live pets, and promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, price changes, product recovery, and safety for associates, pets, and customers.
• Respond swiftly to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and assist across all store areas.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required – passion for pets is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and embrace a flexible schedule. Ideal candidates love animals, excel in customer service, and maintain composure in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate noise and occasional wet/hairy conditions.
