Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Staten Island, NY, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver outstanding service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising: stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and assist across departments including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in noisy/wet environments). Vision for depth perception needed.
