Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) engages pet parents, ensures pet safety, and maintains store standards in Stockton, CA. This entry-level role involves customer service, pet care, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment; recommend products and services.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet enthusiasts with strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and handling moderate noise/animal exposure essential.
