Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment; recommend products and services.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and embrace flexibility. Exposure to live animals and moderate noise is common.
