Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct pet care. Based in Tampa, Florida, this entry-level role suits animal lovers with flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues and transport to vet if needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Vision for depth perception needed.
