Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct pet care. Based in Tampa, Florida, this entry-level role involves flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs and animal handling in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
- Support all store areas, follow policies, and foster a culture of belonging.
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift 50-100 lbs, work in wet/pet hair environments with moderate to high noise and live animal exposure.
Experience & Skills
