Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and care for store pets, ensuring positive experiences while maintaining cleanliness and safety. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards through cleaning, merchandising, facing products, and promotional setups.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for varied shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
