Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Torrance, CA, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Handle sick/injured pets, ensure safe environment, and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items.
