Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Troy store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live pets, and drive positive experiences. This entry-level role offers flexibility, pet interaction, and paths to advancement in a fun retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer meds.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock products, execute price changes, and promote events/adoptions.
- Recommend merchandise/services/live pets and handle online order pickups.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50lbs+, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate-noise/wet environments. Depth perception and team lifting essential.
