Role Overview
The Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) is the heart of our store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for live pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This part-time position requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and handling animals in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, online, and at pickup, answering questions and recommending products/services.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and transport sick pets.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards for associates, pets, and customers.
- Support various store areas as needed, following all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical tasks (standing, lifting, climbing), and embrace our values. Ideal for animal lovers ready to grow in retail.
