Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking impactful work.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle pets in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair and occasional wet conditions. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure store safety, respond to sick/injured pets, and assist across all areas including services.
- Uphold cleanliness, company policies, and culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, love pets, and embrace flexible schedules. Physical stamina for lifting and animal handling essential.
