Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. Based in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order fulfillment, and sales recommendations.
- Perform pet healthcare duties: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks like product staging, facing, filling, recovery, price changes, and promotional setups.
- Promote events including adoption weekends, Treats enrollment, and charity drives.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness; respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise/animal exposure essential.
