Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Vallejo, California, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings/weekends/holidays, and a chance to make a daily impact in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor to standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet lovers with strong communication, flexibility, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, climbing ladders, and exposure to animals, pet hair, and moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations available.
