Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Provide direct pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety by monitoring pets, transporting sick ones to vets, and upholding cleanliness standards.
- Collaborate across store areas, including services, while following all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for variable shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments with moderate noise and occasional wet conditions.
