Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet interaction and customer service focus.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
• Drive sales by recommending merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, price changes, and safety for associates, pets, and customers.
• Respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and assist across store areas including services.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for variable shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
