Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Vancouver, BC store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
• Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover merchandise to standards.
• Recommend products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across departments.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and work flexibly. Comfort with live animals, moderate noise, and wet/hairy environments essential. Specific vision for depth perception needed.
