Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and their pets while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Enjoy flexibility in a dynamic retail environment focused on pet happiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide pet healthcare for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards: face/fill products, stage new merchandise, execute price changes, and ensure cleanliness.
- Recommend and sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: stand/walk/climb, lift 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair.
