Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver exceptional experiences for pet parents and their pets. This entry-level role involves customer engagement, pet care, store maintenance, and sales, in a dynamic retail environment with live animals. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent service in-person, phone, register, and online; prepare pickup orders.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes and merchandising.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is a plus! Need strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, stand/walk extensively). Comfort with animals, wet/hairy environments, and moderate noise essential. Reasonable accommodations available.
