Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Wesley Chapel, NC, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings/weekends/holidays, and a chance to make a daily impact in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise, and ensure sales floor standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet lovers with strong communication, flexibility under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, handling animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Ladder climbing, stooping, and team lifts up to 100+ lbs common.
