Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and their pets while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Enjoy flexibility while making a daily impact – from helping choose a first fish to celebrating pet birthdays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet and answer questions.
- Prepare online orders and ensure smooth pick-up.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish); administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, handle price changes, stock products, face/fill shelves.
- Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: stand/walk/climb, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair.
