Role Overview
As a PetSmart Retail Sales Associate, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, and uphold our vision of pet care excellence. This part-time role shares responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care, offering flexibility in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Prepare online orders and ensure seamless pick-up experiences.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards by facing/filling products, staging merchandise, and supporting price changes/promotions.
- Promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment; recommend products and services.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items needed.
