Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding customer service, cares for store pets, and maintains a clean, safe store. Based in Williamsburg, Virginia, this entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to advance in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, price changes, product recovery, and stocking.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, customers; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals). Exposure to pet hair, noise, and wet environments is common.
