Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Winnipeg, Manitoba store, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility, pet-loving passion, and chances to make a daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions including order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), administer vet-directed medications, and respond to health issues.
- Execute merchandising tasks: face/fill products, stage new items, support price changes and promotions.
- Promote events like adoption weekends, Treats enrollment, and charity drives while recommending products/services.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety for associates/pets/customers, and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical capability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic retail environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
