Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding pet safety, store cleanliness, and sales excellence. Based in Woodbury, New Jersey, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet enthusiasts eager to engage with customers and care for animals in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Merchandise the sales floor: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets and assist across all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Thrive in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise, wet areas, and animal handling.
