Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Yorba Linda, CA, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible scheduling and a chance to make a daily impact in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet lovers with strong communication skills, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical capability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
