Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions; ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate with leadership team; maintain policy compliance; prioritize safety; respond to pet health issues with immediate vet transport if needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service expertise, and pet industry knowledge. Must excel in financial oversight, conflict resolution, and fostering engagement. Experience with scheduling, inventory tools, and community partnerships is ideal.
