Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; build open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; recognize achievements and resolve grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead associate and pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety and health; maintain standards via monthly walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and emergencies.
- Operations & Financials: Collaborate on events and adoptions; communicate objectives; evaluate processes for continuous improvement; ensure policy compliance and efficient execution.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Must excel in delegation, feedback response, and adapting to dynamic environments. Experience in pet retail preferred.
