Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient daily execution in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions, resolve concerns, maintain standards, and conduct monthly walks and safety audits.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, manage inventory, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events and adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in operations and customer service, and a passion for pets. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible schedule environment.
