Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage customer interactions; conduct monthly walks; maintain compliance; prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers; oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; review cameras for coaching; handle pet emergencies and store procedures.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, P&L accountability, and a passion for customer service.
