Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, reviews, and feedback; foster engagement and succession planning.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; handle concerns; conduct safety walks; maintain inventory and compliance.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze metrics, execute strategies, and optimize processes for in-stock availability and events.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, financial acumen, and a pet passion. Must excel in communication, delegation, problem-solving, and adapting to dynamic retail environments. Flexible availability required.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all store operations including safety, customer experience, and financial performance
- Recruit, hire, coach, and develop store associates while managing schedules and performance reviews
- Drive exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and maintain inventory levels
- Analyze business metrics, execute corporate strategies, and foster a positive store culture
- Collaborate on events, monitor store cameras, and handle pet health emergencies
