Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and boost engagement through recognition.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and manage inventory for optimal in-stock levels.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events like community adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, financial acumen, customer obsession, operational efficiency, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands. Pet care knowledge is a plus.
