Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and achieving business targets in a dynamic retail environment focused on pets.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; lead events, compliance checks, and safety protocols including camera reviews and vet transports.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics; maintain inventory; communicate objectives; and optimize processes for efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, P&L accountability, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include team motivation, customer escalation handling, operational execution, and adaptability to flexible schedules.
