Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks; oversee inventory and compliance; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; execute corporate strategies; partner on events and adoptions; manage opening/closing procedures.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, strong leadership to empower teams, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, associate engagement, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
