Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted business outcomes in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an engaging open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews for compliance and safety.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute corporate strategies, manage inventory, and deliver profitability goals.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, proven team leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and fostering high engagement in fast-paced environments.
