Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, champion superior service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and boost engagement through recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers. Manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and oversee openings/closings.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability by analyzing performance, managing inventory, communicating objectives, and partnering on events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Passion for pets and customer obsession required.
