Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, deliver exceptional service, and execute strategies to meet business goals while ensuring a safe, engaging environment for associates, pets, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people functions: recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance reviews, scheduling, and fostering associate engagement through open communication and recognition.
- Drive store experience: oversee pet health/safety, resolve customer issues, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and ensure policy compliance via camera reviews and coaching.
- Manage business operations: analyze metrics, execute corporate strategies, achieve profitability, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
- Prioritize safety, empower teams, and adapt to changing priorities for optimal results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service, financial oversight, and operations. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for pets.
