Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture and strategies, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead people functions: recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance reviews, scheduling, and succession planning.
• Build an open-door culture, respond to associate feedback, and foster engagement through recognition and team activities.
• Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-store, online, and via phone; resolve escalations and ensure pet safety.
• Maintain store standards, conduct monthly Core and Services Walks, and prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers.
• Manage inventory, review security footage for coaching, and collaborate on community events with adoption groups.
• Communicate business objectives, adapt to changing priorities, and drive financial outcomes.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership skills, pet care knowledge, and a passion for customer service. Proficiency in team development, operational execution, financial management, and compliance is essential. Must excel in communication, problem-solving, and creating positive environments.
