Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution to meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; foster open communication; deliver reviews and recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; lead events and partnerships; monitor risks via cameras and protocols.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, and financial acumen. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and a passion for pet welfare. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
