Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage escalations, conduct compliance walks, and oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and optimize processes for efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and customer-centric operations. Must thrive in dynamic environments with flexible availability.

- Manage inventory, scheduling, and business objectives to meet targets
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and respond to associate feedback
- Foster a positive store culture and handle escalations for pets and customers
