Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, manage inventory, and prioritize a safe, compliant environment. Collaborate on events and community partnerships.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making.
