Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee events and inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; handle openings/closings and pet health issues promptly.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, expertise in team building, customer service, and operations. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include financial acumen, problem-solving, delegation, and a passion for pets.
