Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted results through exceptional service and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, conduct Core and Services Walks, and review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute corporate strategies for profitability, manage inventory, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and operational expertise. Pet care passion, safety focus, and adaptability in a fast-paced retail setting are essential. Proficiency in coaching, conflict resolution, and process improvement sets top performers apart.
