Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service and efficient daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, conduct Core and Services Walks, manage inventory, and review cameras for accountability.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational excellence, customer obsession, and data-driven decision-making. Experience with P&L, scheduling, and compliance is essential.
