Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; address grievances and boost engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks and camera reviews; oversee openings/closings and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize inventory, communicate objectives, and improve processes for operational efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for customer service. Key skills include team empowerment, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and adaptability to flexible schedules.
