Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop, and recognize associates; handle reviews, grievances, and succession planning.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions and resolve concerns.
- Operations & Financials: Maintain standards, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, review cameras for compliance, and communicate objectives.
- Community & Events: Partner with leadership on in-store events and local adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service expertise, financial savvy, and passion for pets. Must excel in delegation, feedback response, process improvement, and creating positive environments. Experience in pet retail is a plus.
