Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build an engaged team.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and manage inventory for optimal availability.
- Operations & Financials: Collaborate on events, prioritize safety, communicate objectives, and respond to business changes for efficient execution and results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership to empower teams, customer service expertise, and pet care knowledge. Key skills include HR proficiency, operational efficiency, financial oversight, and fostering a positive environment. Flexibility for opening/closing and community events required.
