Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, reviews, and development. Foster engagement through recognition, open communication, and succession planning.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers. Manage pet parent interactions, conduct compliance walks, oversee inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze metrics, execute corporate strategies, and lead in-store events with community partners.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced retail setting.
