Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; handle escalations; lead events and compliance walks; manage inventory and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on openings/closings and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Must thrive in dynamic environments with flexible hours.
