Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution to achieve targeted business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; review cameras for safety; manage events and compliance.
- Business Management: Drive profitability through strategic execution; analyze performance; maintain inventory; communicate objectives to teams.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, P&L management, customer service mastery, operational efficiency, and adaptability to flexible schedules. Pet industry knowledge is a plus.
